All students are capable of successful learning regardless of linguistic, cultural, religious or socio- economic background and can achieve high standards given the right time and right support.

We offer a learning environment that is safe, respectful, tolerant and inclusive which is reflected in differentiated practices in planning and delivery.

Teachers are guided by the intended learning in the Australian Curriculum. There is a strong focus on the development of cross-curricular skills and competencies such as literacy, numeracy, information and communication technology capability, critical and creative thinking, personal and social capability, ethical behaviour and intercultural understanding.

There are high expectations and students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning. Teachers use evidence to measure the impact of teaching and learning. They design engaging and challenging learning experiences with the necessary support for students to reach success.

Collaborative planning takes place to consistently deliver curriculum expectations and develop curriculum knowledge. Teachers have clarity of knowing what to teach and what students should learn. High impact strategies are implemented in planning and learning experiences. Teachers use evidence of impact to track student progress and inform pedagogy. Teachers analyse data and planning reflects student needs.

Our school has an important teaching & learning motto: Lourdes Learners are CALLed to Think as both a Learner and a Global Citizen.
